Journey of the Forge follows Ferrus on his quest from blacksmith apprentice to master blacksmith. Play as Ferrus and fight mobs and discover progressively stronger materials to reach the diamond forge.
Ferrus' Journey
Ferrus' journey begins at his home. Walking down the stairs he happens upon his mom who tells him to go meet with his father. After talking with Ferrus' father outside, Ferrus discovers that he is to start working with his uncle and heads over to the forge. There his uncle tells him they are going to create diamond weapons and he sends Ferrus on his first mission to collect iron and take it to the Elf King. On the way to collect the iron Ferrus runs into some foes.
Elf Kingdom
Once Ferrus has collected the iron he makes his way to the elf king. Upon receiving the iron, the Elf King tells Ferrus that if he solves a problem in the basement of his castle he will be able to get the Dwarf King to direct him in the direction of the diamond forge.
Once the Dwarf King's request are met he tells Ferrus where the diamond forge is and that at the diamond mine there is a familiar face. After collecting diamonds from the diamond mine outside the Dwarf King's castle, Ferrus heads down the path to the diamond forge and does run into a familiar face. After meeting with that person, Ferrus has become a master blacksmith.

How To Play
Rules
While Kovac Co. wishes for Ferrus’ journey to entertain, it also aims to inform. The ancient art of blacksmithing, developed over centuries of human history, has fallen by the wayside of the public view. While playing through the adventures of Ferrus, explore and discover tidbits of blacksmithing history. With Journey of the Forge, Kovac Co. wishes to remember the rich history of blacksmithing. Experience this through discovering historical facts buried throughout the storyline, roleplaying the apprentice/master dynamic, and finding stronger materials with which to build weapons and tools.
Social Issue
Command Blocks
Ferrus: Journey of the Forge is created mainly using comand blocks. The command blocks used are as follows:
-

Zombies are spawned in the iron mine once the player character leaves the Human Kingdom using impulse blocks at the village exit.
-
-
Zombie Pigman Spawner
-
A set number of Zombie Pigmen are summoned during the quest for the Elf King using impulse blocks.
-
-
Ladder Spawn
-
In the Elven Kingdom, a command block is used to spawn the ladders to speak with the Elf King once a certain point in the storyline is reached.
-
-
Obsidian Door
-
Once the last quest is turned into the Dwarf King, an impassable door leading to the final act of the game is opened.
-
-
The End
-
In the final area of the game, congratulatory fireworks are set off using a few command blocks. Three fireworks were coded in the floor with command blocks.

Risk
Since we are a new company and this is one of the first games we will be creating one of the risks involved is time management. While we have been working on the game for a couple months, we experienced production problems that other companies encounter. However, everyone at Kovac Co are invested in Ferrus: Journey of the Forge so we would be doing everything in our power to keep the game on track.
Another risk of our game is bugs. Since the beginning of Ferrus: Journey of the Forge we have had bugs. We will continue to solve that problem by continuing to have beta test and allowing people outside of the company to test the game and give us feedback.
